Work Health & Safety
Work Health and Safety (WHS) relates to protecting the welfare of all persons from hazards and risks in the workplace. The Work Health & Safety Act 2012, provides for worker representation, consultation and participation through HSRs, enables compliance and enforcement through SafeWork SA and provides for the creation of regulations and Codes of Practice.
WHS covers a range of situations; traditionally relating to manual handling, ergonomics, personal protective equipment (PPE), storage of hazardous materials and workplace layout.
